If your BioCharger will not power and there is only a black screen, below are the things to check:
1. Try Resetting the system
- Grab the provided reset tool or a paperclip
- Open the paperclip (if that is what you are using)
- Turn the unit off with the power button on the rear panel
- Use the reset tool or one end of the paperclip to insert into the small hole just below the screen. This is the reset button for the screen
- Push the button inside the hole with the tool or paperclip and hold for 5 seconds, then release
- Turn the unit on with the power button on the rear of the panel
- If the LCD panel continues to be unresponsive, please submit a ticket to our support team and we will be happy to contact you guide you through additional troubleshooting steps
2. Make sure that your Emergency Shut Off Button is not engaged. The best way to tell if the button is not engaged is if there are no green VDC lights lit up when the BioCharger is turned on. If there are no lights, turn the red button 1/4 turn to the right and it will pop out
3. Make sure that all of your power cords are securely connected. We have seen where the connection between the two provided power cords has become loose. A loose connection between these two power cords will prevent your BioCharger from powering on.
4. Verify that the outlet that your BioCharger is plugged in to works with another electrical appliance, such as a lamp
5. Check the power switch on the back of your BioCharger. It is a 3-position switch and it may not be completely turned on
6. If you have a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupt) wall outlet, make sure that the outlet is not "tripped". A picture of a GFCI outlet is below:
7. Try disconnecting all cords from the BioCharger ( *including the ethernet cable and USB dongle) and plugging them all back in
8. Try connecting your BioCharger directly into the wall. Use the cord that plugs into the filter box and put it directly from the wall into the back of your BioCharger. In this scenario you are not using the supplied filter box or a surge protector
9. If your BioCharger still does not power on, please submit a ticket to our support team and we will be happy to contact you and guide you through additional troubleshooting steps
If possible, it would be most helpful if a short video of the issue could be attached to the ticket or the video e-mailed to clientsuccess@biocharger.com
