# How is this different from previous versions of the BioCharger?

The original BioCharger was developed and introduced in 1993 by [Jim Girard](https://biocharger.com/about-us/) of Advanced Technology Concepts (ATC). This top rated product helped revitalize thousands of people through the capability to simultaneously transmit pulsed electromagnetic, electro-dynamic, and photonic energies, however it was handmade, costly to build, and complex to operate.

In 2013, Advanced Biotechnologies, LLC acquired ATC and brought [Jim Girard](https://biocharger.com/about-us/) on board to work with its team of world class software, hardware and electrical engineers to leverage today’s technologies to reinvent the BioCharger to become the world’s premier revitalization platform.

Here a just a few of the enhancements in the BioCharger NG:
